Common questions
How much is the overstay fine?
For most visit and residence visas it is AED 50 per day, so waiting only makes it bigger. [EDIT: confirm current rate]
Can fines really be reduced?
Yes. Dubai immigration has an official service to request a waiver or reduction of fines, decided by a Fines Committee. The decision is theirs — no agency can guarantee the result.
Should I wait for an amnesty?
Amnesties are rare and announced with fixed dates. The last one ended on 31 December 2024. Waiting usually costs more than applying now.
What reasons are accepted?
Common reasons include medical emergencies, lost passport, sponsor or company problems, job loss and family hardship. Proof makes your case stronger.
