5 UAE visa tips every Kabayan should know

Every week we help Kabayans who are flying to Dubai for the first time, visiting family, or starting a new job search. Most visa problems we see are small mistakes that are easy to avoid. Here are five tips we share with every client.

1. Choose the right visa length from the start

Visit visas come in different lengths, like 14, 30, 60 and 90 days. Think about your real plan before you apply. If you are job hunting, a short visa often means extra cost later for an extension or a new visa. Picking the right length on day one is almost always cheaper.

2. Check your passport before anything else

Your passport should have at least 6 months of validity left and enough blank pages. A clear, colour scan of your passport photo page also speeds up your application. Blurry or cut photos are one of the most common reasons for delays.

3. Always travel with your documents ready

At the airport, immigration officers may ask about your trip. Keep these ready on your phone and on paper:

• Your approved visa copy
• Return or onward ticket
• Hotel booking or the address where you will stay
• Contact details of your relative or host in the UAE
• Travel insurance certificate

4. Never overstay, even by one day

Overstay fines are charged for every day you stay after your visa expires, and they add up fast. If your plans change, message us before your visa ends so we can check your options, like an extension or a change of status.

5. Use a trusted, licensed agency
